  • Aurora viewing is not included if you stay an extra night. Please let us know if you would like an additional viewing.
  • The temperature there may be very low, so we strongly recommend you to bring some warm clothing and non-slippery shoes. It is also a good idea to bring sunglasses and hats.
  • The number of beds in a room may differ from the number of people in the room.
  • Depending on the weather in November, and from the end of March to April, optional tours such as dog sledding and snowshoeing may not be available. If the customer has already paid for the optional tours prior departure to Yellowknife, a full refund will be made once they return from Yellowknife.

  • Tour schedule may be modified due to road conditions and weather.
  • We are unable to provide a refund if the customer is unable to see the aurora due to reasons such as bad weather.
  • The tour schedule and pricing may be modified due to circumstances.
  • If single travelers would like to extend their stay, the extended-stay charge will be two times the price indicated. Also, the winter gear for the third night is included.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1:We are arriving late at night/ leaving early in the morning. Is it possible to go directly to the Aurora viewing tour from the airport/go to the airport directly after the Aurora viewing?
All customers will need to check-in to the hotel before heading to the Aurora Viewing, and after the Aurora viewing the customers would need to return to their hotel once after the Aurora Viewing tour.
Q2:I would like to reserve the tour but when I enter my credit card information the system gives me an error message.
If you are not able to complete the payment, please contact H.I.S Canada directly.
(One of our agents will help you complete the process.)
Q3:What kind of clothing should I bring to Yellowknife?
• Thin gloves ⇒ If you wear this beneath mittens, your fingertips will not turn cold.
• Ski googles ⇒ They are very useful when you go dog sledding, ice-fishing or snowshoeing.
• Thin socks ⇒ Bring a couple extra as your feet will get sweaty from wearing winter boots.
• Indoor slippers ⇒ Your feet can stay warm even when you are indoor.
• Any zipper storage bags ⇒ To prevent your camera from forming dew
• Disposable contact lens ⇒ In case your glasses will form dew, you can wear contact lenses instead.
• Disposable adhesive heat pads ⇒ You can bring 4 or 5 to put into your shoes to keep warm.
Q4:Is it okay to wear glasses and contact lenses?
There will not be any problem if you wear contact lenses. For glasses, as long as the parts touching your skin are not made of metal, then it’s fine.
Q5:Is this tour package handicapped-friendly?
Absolutely! Our tour guides will do our best to assist you during the tour.
Q6:How long is the aurora viewing?
Each night, you will have about 4 hours of viewing time. We usually pick you up from your hotel at 21:30 and drop you off at around 02:00.
Q7:Are flights included in the tour package?
Please refer to the flight-included packages on our homepage.
Q8:Do I have to join the optional tours before I go or can I sign up when I get to Whitehorse?
Either is fine, but we recommend booking before you go, because they may not be available for your preferred date.
