Remarks

  • The price displayed above is for one person in double occupancy.
  • If the flight to Yellowknife arrives after midnight due to delay, you will not be able to view the aurora on the first night.
  • The chartered Air North flight has a three-seat configuration. For single travellers, there is a possibility that you may share the same row with other passengers. During the aurora viewing on the flight, you must rotate with your neighbours.
  • For an additional of $800CAD, you could occupy a window seat for three hours all by yourself. Please consult with our agents for availability.
  • We will not offer any refund in circumstances such as bad weather, or a change/cancellation in flights that got delayed/missed from Aurora viewing. We highly recommend our customers to purchase travel insurance.
  • Aurora viewing is not included if you stay an extra night. Please let us know if you would like an additional viewing.
  • The temperature there may be very low, so we strongly recommend you to bring some warm clothing and non-slippery shoes. It is also a good idea to bring sunglasses and hats.
  • The number of beds in a room may differ from the number of people in the room.
  • Depending on the weather in November, and from the end of March to April, optional tours such as dog sledding and snowshoeing may not be available. If the customer has already paid for the optional tours prior to departure to Whitehorse, a full refund will be made once they return from Whitehorse.
  • Tour schedule may be modified due to road conditions and weather.
  • We are unable to provide a refund if the customer is unable to see the aurora due to reasons such as bad weather.
  • The tour schedule and pricing are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Please be aware that you might share the same vehicle and viewing facility with other customers from other tours.
  • Please inform us of your full flight schedule ahead of time. This will enable the local guide company to make arrangements accordingly and more effectively in case of delays or cancellations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1:We are arriving late at night/ leaving early in the morning. Is it possible to go directly to the Aurora viewing tour from the airport/go to the airport directly after the Aurora viewing?
All customers will need to check-in to the hotel before heading to the Aurora Viewing, and after the Aurora viewing the customers would need to return to their hotel once after the Aurora Viewing tour.
Q2:I would like to reserve the tour but when I enter my credit card information the system gives me an error message.
If you are not able to complete the payment, please contact H.I.S Canada directly.

Q3:Is it okay to wear glasses and contact lenses?
There will not be any problem if you wear contact lenses. For glasses, as long as the parts touching your skin are not made of metal, then it’s fine.
Q4:Is this tour package handicapped-friendly?
Absolutely! Our tour guides will do our best to assist you during the tour.
Q5:How long is the aurora viewing?
Each night, you will have about 4 hours of viewing time.
Q6:Are flights to and from Whitehorse included in the tour package?
We offer 2 kinds of plan. One is without flights to and from Whitehorse, and another with flights between Vancouver and Whitehorse. Please consult with our agents for more information.
Q7:Do I have to join the optional tours before I go or can I sign up when I get to Whitehorse?
Either is fine, but we recommend booking before you go, because they may not be available for your preferred date.
Q8:I am travelling by myself, can I join this tour?
We welcome single travellers as well as groups. However, the price for single travellers will be $1820CAD.
Q9:Can I take up the window seat during the chartered aurora viewing flight?
Yes, at an additional $800CAD, you may have the window seat all to yourself during the entire flight.
